On 26 November 2021, Prof. Cesare Glendi, Prof. Luigi Ferrajoli, Prof. Alberto Comelli and two other illustrious Colleagues will receive the title of ‘Doctor honoris causa internacional’ from several Latin American Universities, in collaboration with the Federación Iberomaericana de Abogados (FIA).

The title of ‘Dottore di ricerca internazionale honoris causa’, which is very prestigious in Latin America, was proposed to Prof. Alberto Comelli for his studies on the theoretical profiles of VAT and, more generally, on the European principles applicable in tax matters, in addition to his contributions on environmental taxation (some published in Italian, others in English), which allowed him to be chosen as organiser and president of the world congress on environmental taxation that will be held at the University of Parma from 21 to 24 September 2022.

The ceremony for the proclamation of honorary PhDs will take place on 26 November from 4.00 to 5.00 p.m. in the Aula dei Cavalieri in the main hall of the University of Parma and will be streamed free of charge on the Facebook channel of the Federación Iberomaericana de Abogados. It will be followed from 5.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m., also live streamed, by the lectures of the new PhD students and the lectio magistralis of Prof. Cesare Glendi.

The FIA is based in 18 countries in Latin America and other continents. Its members include professors, judges (including of the Supreme Courts), lawyers and law students, as well as some universities.
